Senior Backend AEM Developer/Consultant - Argentina

Role Overview:
As a Senior Backend AEM Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and integrations within the AEM platform. You will collaborate with frontend developers, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, performance-driven solutions that meet the complex needs of our clients.
This role is limited to residents in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru or Argentina only! This is a fully-remote position. Only resumes uploaded in English will be considered.
Contract Terms:
This role is expected to be a long-term contract with 40 hours/week for the first 2-3 months, with additional fractional work to follow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement backend components, services, and APIs within the AEM platform.
- Design and build custom AEM components, templates, and workflows to support web content management and delivery.
- Integrate AEM with external systems, including databases, third-party services, and RESTful APIs.
- Optimize backend performance, ensuring scalability and reliability across various environments.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration between backend services and frontend components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, including performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Stay informed on the latest AEM updates, best practices, and industry trends, applying them to ongoing projects.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior developers, and guiding the team on best practices in AEM development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a focus on Java and related technologies.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including experience with AEM 6.x or later versions.
- Strong knowledge of AEM architecture, including Sling, OSGi, JCR, and DAM.
- Experience with AEM customization, including building custom components, services, and workflows.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integrating AEM with third-party systems.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of security best practices in web application development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- B2 or better English level
